Embracing
the Infinite Grace Of Allah
In Your Journey
Despite Allah opening His door of infinite Mercy for us, and even finds excuses to put us in His paradise by encouraging us and telling us the beauties and wonders he has provided for us there.
Yet as oftentimes lazy human beings, we do not take advantage of the opportunities to cash in on the rewards, but we rather blatantly and foolishly walk away from that and towards Allah’s punishment and the hellfire, and we blame it on Shaitan.
Allah swt, being our maker knows us perfectly well than we ever imagine. He (swt) out of mercy even makes a clear comparison between His mercy and punishment in the simplest terms so that we can easily understand but, being ungrateful, we blatantly refuse to follow His guidance by deciding to follow the path of evil, which will surely lead us unto the hellfire.
Allah (swt) says: “Inna linsana li Rabbihi laka-nood” (Meaning: Indeed, mankind to his Lord is ungrateful) Q: Al-Aadiyaat, C: 100 V: 6
All of us have forgotten the state of our affairs and the uncertainty we were in during the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.
Many did not and we have clearly forgotten about them, whereas, we should always remember and reflect on that event so that we may be grateful to Allah (swt) for sparing our lives and that of our family.
It is important for Muslims, those who pray five times daily, fast the month of Ramadan, etc., to always remember that good character is a twin brother/sister of your deen.
You cannot attain Allah’s Grace and mercy without being conscious of your actions and deeds.
Like I always mention as a constant reminder, there is a reason why the Imam/khatib always reminds us at the beginning of his Jumaat sermon: “Mon yadillahu falamu dilala..”
“Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright” is a quote from the Quran, Surah Al-A’raf, verse 178:
We cannot achieve Allah’s guidance without being deliberately wanting or intending to be guided. As a foundation for this, we must consciously instill good habits and break bad ones. “The only thing it takes—the only thing it takes—is for you to make that intention that you will turn to Allah.” Sincerely and act upon your intention to be able to achieve it.
Surah Al-Qasas – 56: “You surely cannot guide whoever you like ˹O Prophet˺, but it is Allah Who guides whoever He wills, and He knows best who are ˹fit to be˺ guided”.
As we approach the end of the year 2024 by Allah’s mercy and grace, there are questions we need to ask ourselves, such as:
- Have I improved as a person?
- Did I accomplish what I wanted to do professionally, personally, and spiritually? If I did not, where did I mess up?
- Most importantly, how can I actually move forward full speed ahead into the New Year and avoid another slump?
While humanity seems to ponder this question every December, Muslims are encouraged to take time out for this self-reflection much more often. We have to check ourselves daily and become better than we were the previous day.
In short: make an intention. An intention to refocus and rededicate my life and time to Allah swt. Be productive, and invest time in good acts. With a sincere intention, there is so much potential to turn life around and get set on the right track. Allah wants to see us take that initial step and then, He creates excuse after excuse to bestow His mercy on us and ultimately land us into that wonderful abode of Heaven.
Surah Az-Zumar – 36:- “Is Allah not sufficient for His servant? Yet they threaten you with other ˹powerless˺ gods besides Him! Whoever Allah leaves to stray will be left with no guide”.
Surah Al-A’raf – 178:- “Whoever Allah guides is truly guided. And whoever He leaves to stray, they are the ˹true˺ losers”.
